Clear, bright, golden straw in color and a lively effervescence. Fresh fruity aromas, mingled with a delicate bouquet of honeyed raisin and biscotti. On the palate hints of pear and apple with a generous finish. Alcohol 12.5%
Charles Fox Cap Classique wine estate, originally a fruit farm called Furneaux farm, was purchased by champagne and sparkling wine oenophiles Charles and Zelda Fox in 2005 after an exhaustive search for Cap Classique-specific terroir. They converted the farm to a gorgeous and successful Cap Classique Wine Estate specializing only in grape varieties used to make champagne – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. They organically farm six hectares of the three classic Champagned cultivars.
As a French winemaker of Champagne once said, “the biggest threat to French champagne is South African Méthode Cap Classique.”
