This blend of Pinot Noir, met with equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, pits assertive red fruitiness to ample toasted brioche, to brilliant results. It’s easy to get lopsided with very fruity, or very oxidative styles, but when the two forces meet = balance. This spent three years on the lees and is disgorged in batches of 2000 bottles to ensure freshness. That atypical meeting of two big forces is achieved here, in a self-assured style, with generous wild strawberry, juicy raspberry, smoked stone, rich hazelnuts, toast on an expansive palate, one with a glint of age. Acidity is striking and the finish lingers with a hum. Alcohol 12.5%
