Aquila is a constellation on the celestial equator. Its brightest star, Altair, is one vertex of the Summer Triangle asterism.
The Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard of about 700 vines was planted in 1997 on granite sands. Around a hectare of Sangiovese was planted on decomposed granite in 1999.
Deep red in color, almost purple. In the nose obvious cherry and cranberry. On the tongue, the Sangiovese persists. The sugar-free extract is high as with all of their wines, so there are intense mouthfeel and a long aftertaste. The wine changes in glass, so that after time the coffee/green bean/blackcurrant starts coming through, making it a very enjoyable and rewarding wine. Alcohol 13.3%. 750 ml. 60% Sangiovese / 40% Cabernet Sauvignon.
