SANGIOVESE Limited Edition

A remarkably traditional and delicious Sangiovese.

In the glass, it is noticeably lighter colored than their other reds and has tantalizing aromas of sour cherries and cranberry. On the palate, it is reasonably light-bodied with a tight seam of acidity that underpins the characteristic tart red fruit flavors. The finish is gloriously mouth-watering. AQUILA RED BLEND

Aquila is a constellation on the celestial equator. Its brightest star, Altair, is one vertex of the Summer Triangle asterism.

The Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyard of about 700 vines was planted in 1997 on granite sands. Around a hectare of Sangiovese was planted on decomposed granite in 1999.

Deep red in color, almost purple. In the nose obvious cherry and cranberry. On the tongue, the Sangiovese persists. The sugar-free extract is high as with all of their wines, so there are intense mouthfeel and a long aftertaste. The wine changes in glass, so that after time the coffee/green bean/blackcurrant starts coming through, making it a very enjoyable and rewarding wine. Alcohol 13.3%. 750 ml. 60% Sangiovese / 40% Cabernet Sauvignon.

ORION’S BELT (Méthode Ancestrale) 2018

Orion’s Belt or the Belt of Orion, also known as the Three Kings or Three Sisters, is an asterism in the constellation Orion.

The Orion’s Belt is made in the ancestral French way, which, unlike Methode Cap Classique, adds nothing to the fermentation in the bottle, using only its own sugars and wild yeasts. It is usually called a méthode ancestrale. Alc. 10.5% 750 ml 100% Chardonnay

Ancestral Method: An inexpensive but risky and difficult-to-control method of producing sparkling wine, and almost certainly the oldest, in which the primary fermentation is stopped before completing, and a secondary fermentation occurs in the bottle, ending when the yeast cells deplete the supply of residual sugar. There is no dosage, or sugar addition, to kick-start the secondary fermentation, and the wine is not disgorged to remove any sediment or lees remaining afterward. Also known as a Pét Nat.

SUPERNOVA 2018 (Méthode Cap Classique)

A supernova is a titanic explosion that occurs during the last stage of the life of a massive star.

It has a delicate pink hue due to the inclusion of Pinotage, which also brings a great deal of red fruit to the wine. The nose and palate showing lots of delicious strawberry and raspberry flavors. This is balanced by the crisp apple acidity of the Chenin Blanc and is rounded off by a delicate but long-lasting mousse and earthiness from the Pinotage. Alc. 11.5%. 750 ml. 50% Chenin Blanc / 50% Pinotage

The Méthode Cap Classique is a category of sparkling wines made in South Africa. It means the bubbly was made in the traditional method of Champagne production, where a secondary fermentation happens inside the bottle. It’s more labor-intensive than other methods.
